(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang received the Ambassadors from Peru, Russia, Algeria, and Brazil, who presented their credentials to start their missions in Vietnam. President Sang welcomed Peru’s first Ambassador to Vietnam, Oscar Berninzon, saying his working term will boost bilateral cooperation. Sang said Vietnam always attached importance to its ties with Peru as well as the Latin American region. He proposed both sides establish a joint-government committee to boost bilateral economics and trade and support each other at international forums. He asked Peru to support Vietnam’s bid for non-permanent membership at the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 period.

In his meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Konstantin Vnukoz, Sang pledged to create the best possible conditions to boost bilateral investment cooperation and speed up the signing of a free trade agreement with the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, lifting two-way trade turnover to beyond 10 billion USD. Ambassador Vnukoz extended Russian President Putin’s invitation to President Truong Tan Sang to visit Russia, and attend celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Russian victory over Fascism. He said both sides should increase cooperation in oil and gas, nuclear power, and military technology.

While meeting with the Algerian Ambassador Mohamed Berrah, Sang proposed both countries should increase exchanges of high-level delegations, closely cooperate at international forums, and bolster trade and economic cooperation.
