He said that thanks to the press, the National Assembly’s activities are reported to the people and the people’s aspirations and opinions are delivered to the National Assembly. The press also provides a way for the public to oversee the National Assembly’s performance, as Chairman Hue put it.

“Press agencies need to more promptly relay voter’s concerns and petitions to the National Assembly and its agencies and propose ways to improve the National Assembly’s performance in regard to law-making, oversight, and decision-making. Efforts should be made the create more programs dedicated to the National Assembly’s operation. More reporters with profound experience and knowledge about the National Assembly will be in charge of covering the legislature’s activities,” according to the National Assembly Chairman.

Chairman Hue approved a proposal to launch annual press awards for coverage of the National Assembly.
