(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his spouse, and a Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived in Manila, the Philippines on Friday, for the 30th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
The delegation was welcomed at Ninoy Aquino airport by Philippine National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Ly Quoc Tuan, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, and Vietnamese embassy staff.
The 30th ASEAN Summit, under the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World”, is the first summit in 2017 under the Philippines’s ASEAN chairmanship.
Prime Minister Phuc is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony, the plenary session and the closing ceremony of the Summit. He will also take part in a meeting between leaders and representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
