Mr. Phuc, who is also Chairman of the Central Council for Emulation and Reward, attended the Hanoi Patriotic Emulation Congress on Saturday. Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister acknowledged that the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hanoi have constantly promoted cultural and heroic traditions, made efforts to fulfill tasks, and contributed to the industrialization and modernization of Hanoi and Vietnam.

Highlighting the opportunities and challenges facing the country next year and  the following years, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc underlined the importance of emulation. He said, “Emulation must follow the political tasks and the realization of the city's socio-economic development goals. Emulation movements must create a momentum for each sector and locality to focus on specific and practical tasks and mobilize the Party members and the masses to involve in administrative reform, maintaining national defense and security, ensuring social order and safety, Party building, and strengthening the political system at grassroots level.”
