(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged the Red River Delta to enhance its regional connectivity to create a combined strength for the region.

Chairing the first meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Red River Delta Region in Hanoi on Thursday, the Prime Minister said regional connectivity should focus on stabilizing the macro economy, controlling inflation, promoting economic growth, and ensuring major economic balances. He said priority should be given to boosting economic growth, focusing on the three drivers of growth – consumption, investment, and export.
He emphasized the need to focus on promoting strategic infrastructure connectivity, high-quality training of human resources, and accelerating administrative reform while improving investment and the business environment, and perfecting institutions.

It’s important to effectively connect the state budget with local resources while focusing on attracting direct foreign investment, said the Prime Minister.
Mr. Chinh said localities need to connect to upgrade infrastructure, promote culture in connection with tourism, reform administrative procedures, improve their business environment, and share their experiences.
At the meeting, leaders of ministries, sectors and localities discussed the plan of the Red River Delta region in the 2021- 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The Red River Delta is comprised of 11 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh.
