The Red River Delta is an important strategic area in politics, economics, culture, society, environment, defense, security, and foreign affairs. It preserves many national cultural and historical values and is a national growth force.
In his address, Prime Minister Chinh said it's now the favorable time to complete the planning of the Red River Delta toward realizing the vision and goals identified at the Resolution on Regional Development and National Planning.
He recommended the delegates focus on measures to maximize potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages, and at the same time resolve difficulties for rapid, sustainable development.
The planning for the Red River Delta was compiled in alignment the Politburo Resolution 30 on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta until 2030, with a Vision to 2045.
Under the Resolution, the Red River Delta will become a modern, civilized, and ecologically-developed region and a major economic and financial hub of the northern region and the world.
