He made the statement at a meeting on Tuesday with Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Myanmar.
Mr. Phuc asked the embassy to contribute more to the national diplomatic mission as Vietnam prepares to assume the ASEAN Chair and become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council next year.
He underscored the need for the embassy to support the two countries’ business communities to boost bilateral trade and investment cooperation and improve relations with Myanmar’s government so that Vietnamese investors can do long-term business and grow in Myanmar.
The Vietnamese Embassy should protect citizens and help Vietnamese integrate into the host country and abide by local laws, he said.
Prime Minister Phuc urged the embassy to help Vietnamese citizens preserve and uphold their national cultural values and traditions by organizing more community activities for them.
