Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung holds talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi on Saturday concluding their trip to Japan for the 7th Mekong-Japan summit and other diplomatic activities.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe where they agreed to increase visit exchanges and dialogues at various levels to promote mutual trust. The two Prime Ministers agreed to work closely to effectively implement major cooperative agreements and soon accomplish the medium and long-term vision on agriculture. The Japanese Prime Minister agreed to help Vietnam in infrastructure development and continue providing Vietnam with ODA capital to contribute to Vietnam’s sustainable growth. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was speaking at a press conference after the talks: “I sincerely thank and appreciate HE Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for supporting Vietnam’s proposal on ODA grant for the 2015 fiscal year worth about 300 billion yen or 3 billion USD. The Japanese Prime Minister also supported the Cho Ray 2 Hospital project which will later be named Vietnam-Japan Friendship Hospital”.
The two Prime Ministers reiterated their determination to effectively implement major projects signed by the two countries’ leaders. They reached consensus on the importance of ensuring peace, security and safety of navigation and aviation and urged involved parties not to complicate sovereignty disputes in the East Sea and seriously abide by international law including the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea as well as soon complete the Code of Conduct in the East Sea. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said:“I and HE Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung shared deep concern over recent complications in the East Sea, especially unilateral activities to change the status quo in the East Sea including the building of military bases. I will promote links between the two countries to maintain order, security and maritime freedom in the East Sea”.
The two Prime Ministers agreed to declare the fundamental conclusion of talks between Vietnam and Japan on the Trans Pacific Partnership. Prime Minister Dung praised Japan’s contribution to the success of the 7th Mekong-Japan summit and the adoption of the Tokyo Strategy 2015. After the talks, the two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of a number of cooperative agreements.
