Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Kazakhstan to witness FTA signing
(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Prime Ministers of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia have signed a free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Community in Kazakhstan. Vietnam is the first country to sign an agreement with the community, whose total GDP is estimated to be 4.5 trillion USD, with markets of 170 million people. The pact is expected to create a legal framework for Vietnam and other community members to increase bilateral relations and exchange measures to implement the agreements between each country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese delegation were welcomed at Kosetau airport, in Kazakhstan’s Armolen province by the Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister and ambassador to Vietnam, the Vietnamese ambassador in Kazakhstan and delegates of FTA negotiators.
