(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc led a Vietnamese delegation to the 11^th ASEM summit which opened on Friday in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. Themed “20 years of ASEM: partnership for the future through connectivity”, the summit will review the Asia-Europe partnership over the past 20 years and decide its future direction.

Since joining ASEM 20 years ago, Vietnam has stayed active as a member. It has proposed 22 initiatives and co-sponsored 25 initiatives. In April, 2016, Vietnam hosted a conference on comprehensively enhancing the Asia-Europe partnership in the 21^st century, recommended solutions for ASEM expansion, and supported important documents including the Hanoi Declaration on Closer ASEM Partnership.
