(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the role of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in socio-economic development and poverty reduction in the Asia Pacific region and in Vietnam.

Mr. Phuc was speaking at a ceremony in Hanoi on Friday to mark the 50^th founding anniversary of ADB on December 19 and the 20^th anniversary of ADB Vietnam Office. He said Vietnam, a founding member of ADB, has contributed to the bank’s development and that ADB’s assistance for Vietnam which targets equal and sustainable growth, has been implemented effectively, helping Vietnam escape poverty and become a middle-income country.
