(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held meetings with Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Governor David Hurley of New South Wales on Friday, during his official visit to Australia.

Mr. Phuc expressed hopes that with its strength in industry, agriculture, finance and services, New South Wales will enhance cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade, investment, education, science-technology, and tourism. This would help deepen the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership in a more pragmatic fashion, for the sake of the two countries’ people.
The Premier applauded the affiliation between Vietnam and New South Wales as well as Sydney, stressing that the strategic partnership will offer more opportunities for the two sides to expand cooperation across fields, including training and vocational education. She welcomed VOV’s opening of a bureau in Sydney and pledged support for its effective operation.
The Governor said he supported the enhancement of cooperation between Australia and Vietnam which are celebrating the 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
The same day Prime Minister Phuc received Marie Bashir, former Premier of New South Wales. He appreciated her contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, particularly in education and public health, through her sponsored “Learning Forever” Foundation.
