The Vietnamese Prime Minister congratulated Trump on his election as the 45^th President of the United States of America and affirmed that Vietnam attached great importance to friendship and cooperation with the US. President-elect Trump applauded Vietnam's achievements in past years and improvements of bilateral ties between Vietnam and the US. He said the US wanted to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Vietnam. The two leaders discussed ways to boost economic, trade, and investment ties in the near future.
