In his address the Prime Minister said Vietnam wants to expand cooperation in the digital economy, the green transition, the circular economy, and the knowledge-led economy. He said Vietnam considers science, technology, and innovation the drivers of economic growth. He also said Vietnam will always create the best conditions for major, high-tech businesses and those that have management experience including those from Turkey.

The Prime Minister asked Turkey to recognize Vietnam’s full market economy status and pave the way for both countries to accelerate negotiations on a free trade agreement to facilitate the two countries’ businesses to expand investment.

At a meeting with Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Simsek, the Prime Minister asked Minister Simsek to accelerate negotiations on the Vietnam-Turkey Free Trade Agreement. This will effectively remove trade barriers on Vietnamese exports and share Turkish experience with Vietnam in building fiscal and monetary policies. Minister Mehmet Simsek said Vietnam is one of Turkey’s priority economic partners in Asia, emphasizing that the two countries need to work closely to promote air corridors, to create favorable visa conditions, and open branches of commercial banks in Vietnam.

At a meeting with Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology, Fatih Kacir the same day, Prime Minister Chinh said he hoped that Turkey would consider investing in and share their experience in managing industrial and high-tech parks with Vietnam. Minister Fatih Kacir proposed promoting cooperation between Turkish electric car manufacturers and Vietnamese partners. He suggested the two sides improve the legal framework to create conditions for bilateral cooperative activities in the coming time.
