At a reception for Board Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Li Qingkui, PM Phuc praised the group’s determination to put into operation the first turbine of the Vinh Tan 1 thermal power plant in June next year, six months ahead of schedule. The turbine project was signed at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Vietnam in 2016. PM Phuc welcomed the group’s plan to form a joint venture with the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group to invest in more power plant projects under the BOT form. However, he asked the business to pay attention to handling of dust to protect the environment as part its construction and operation of thermal power plants. During a meeting with Mitsubishi Chairman Omiya Hideaki, PM Phuc hailed the group’s effective investment in a number of hi-tech projects in Vietnam, including an airplane component factory in Hanoi. He asked the group to expand its investment in hi-tech projects in Vietnam and strengthen their cooperation in training.
