Prime Minister signs directive on stronger measures against new coronavirus

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, and individuals to enhance effort to prevent and fight new coronavirus, even if they have to accept economic losses, in order to ensure human health and minimize casualties.

The PM signed a directive on strengthening measures to prevent complications of the acute respiratory syndrome caused by the new coronavirus. Localities bordering with China have to update information and impose measures to deal with particular situation, stop issuing licenses for flights from and to China’s affected areas. The Prime Minister asked hospitals to be ready to receive, treat, and quarantine patients. Hiding and spreading false information of the epidemic are prohibited.

The Health Ministry confirmed a new case of nCoV infection on Saturday, raising the total number of infections of the new coronavirus (nCoV) in Vietnam to six. 

In China, the number of confirmed deaths from coronavirus outbreak has risen to 259.
