(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc underlined the importance of restoring and developing forests at a conference on measures to sustainably revive the central highlands region on Monday in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province.

Prime Minister Phuc asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to devise relevant policies as soon as possible. He called for the coordinated forces of the entire political system to manage forests in a sustainable manner and contribute to socio-economic development.

At the conference, PM Phuc repeated the government’s decision to close natural forests and scrap a plan to shift 2.5 million ha of natural forests to other purposes.
