Prime Minister's France visit promises important cooperation results

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to France, his first bilateral visit later this week is expected to produce many important cooperation results and lay the foundation for future specific cooperation projects between Vietnam and France, said Vietnamese Ambassador to France.

Dinh Toan Thang told a VOV reporter that the visit takes place after eight years of implementing the bilateral Strategic Partnership Agreement and one year of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement. He said the visit will deepen the relationship between Vietnam and France in the current context that the two countries, the world and the region are undergoing profound changes.
“During this visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with the French Prime Minister and meet with senior French leaders to discuss measures to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, jointly respond to global challenges, and jointly maintain peace, security and stability in the region and the world," Ambassador Thang said.
"Major agreements on ministerial cooperation and economic cooperation will be signed. Medical cooperation will be discussed by the Prime Minister and the French leaders. He will meet leading French businesses to seek to strengthen cooperation, take advantage of the strengths of French businesses to meet the current development needs of Vietnam, and take advantage of the Free Trade Agreement signed between Vietnam and the European Union.”
The Ambassador said that vaccine support and experience exchange will have more specific results. The Prime Minister will visit French pharmaceutical and medical research facilities to have a deeper discussion on cooperation directions in disease prevention and control.
