(VOVworld) – A program honoring this year’s outstanding Vietnamese farmers in production and business has been launched in Hanoi. The Vietnam Farmers Association discussed with relevant ministries on Monday on channels of voting for outstanding farmers nationwide.

Luu Quang Dinh, Editor-in-chief of Rural Today newspaper, is vice chief organizer, said: “Outstanding farmers work in various sectors so the list of candidates submitted by affiliates of the Vietnam Farmers Association is not sufficient. We also plan to get scientists, experts, and journalists of agriculture and rural area involved in selecting candidates.”  

The award ceremony is expected to be held in October.
