(VOVWORLD) - Multiple activities have been organized nationwide to help the poor and disadvantaged households to have a happy and sufficient Tet.

In Quang Tri, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and the Ministry’s delegation on Tuesday presented 400 sets of Tet gifts to local policy beneficiary families and poor ethnic people. Mr. Dung reiterated the Party and State’s concern for people’s living conditions and called for joint efforts to develop the local economy in line with national border protection.
Thai Binh province’s Confederation of Labor organized a Tet gathering for poor local workers, where Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the Committee for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises, said he hopes that after the Tet holiday workers at industrial zones in Thai Binh will return to work utterly dedicated to production, and will improve their professional qualifications in order to increase their incomes and better their living standards.
A pre-Tet program for border soldiers and teachers took place at the Na Hinh border guard station in Lang Son province. Vu Minh Duc, President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, said: “On top of presenting Tet gifts, we have raised 43,000 USD for schools, border guards stations, and teachers. Border soldiers and teachers have participated in traditional Tet activities including sticky rice cake wrapping, folk game competitions, and a year-end meal which helped to warm the hearts of teachers and soldiers working in border areas.”
In Hau Giang, a Spring of Love program was held for 1,000 children from disadvantaged local families.
