(VOVworld) – On Thursday, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented the National Assembly’s Standing Committee’s nomination of Public Security Minister Tran Dai Quang for the post of President. National Assembly deputies will vote on his election on April 2.
Born in 1956, Mr. Quang was a deputy in the 13th National Assembly and holds a law professorship. He was Director of the Security Consultation Department, Deputy Director and Director of the Security Department, Deputy Minister of Public Security, member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th Party Central Committee, member of the politburo of the 11th Party Central Committee, and Minister of Public Security.
Tran Ngoc Vinh, a deputy for Hai Phong, said: “We appreciate the Party’s nomination of Mr. Tran Dai Quang for President. As representative of the people, the National Assembly will vote on his election. I support his nomination.”
Earlier, National Assembly deputies approved the relieving of Mr. Truong Tan Sang from the post of President.
