The three leaders reaffirmed their support for mutually-beneficial economic cooperation with Iran and stressed the importance of preserving the Iran nuclear deal, which they said is a key factor in maintaining international stability and security.
Another topic discussed was Russia's voting rights at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). According to a statement from the Kremlin, the leaders of Russia, Germany, and France favor the restoration of PACE voting rights to Russia. In April 2014, Russia was stripped of its voting rights in PACE following the Ukraine crisis. During the phone call, the leaders exchanged views on Ukraine and Syria and agreed to establish a Constitution Committee in Syria and to continue to abide by UN Security Council resolutions on conflict resolution in the Middle East country.
