Pyeongchang Winter Olympics closes
(VOVWORLD) -The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics 2018 closed on Sunday night in South Korea’s Pyeongchang city with spectacular performances, a fusion of traditional and modern South Korea.

The Games were special for the two Koreas who had their athletes march together at both the opening and closing ceremonies under a banner of unification and used the Arirang folksong as a national anthem. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed North Korea to compete in figure skating, speed skating, and women’s ice hockey. In addition to the peace games, the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics presented 100 gold medals, a record high in history. Norway led the medal tally with 14 gold medals, followed by Germany with 14 golds and Canada with 11 golds. South Korea, the host country, ranked 7th.
