(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, socio-economic development topped the agenda of the NA Q&A session. Lawmakers expressed their concerns about public debt, state-owned enterprise restructuring, real estate, urban programming, sustainable agricultural development, and administrative reforms.

Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung said the public debt is at a high level and needs to be cut 58.5% by 2020.

He underlined the importance of “using public debt for construction and development projects of particular importance to the national economy and society. We should promptly restructure public debt to increase long-term loans and domestic loans while strengthening the government bond market. We also need to practice thrift, and fight wastefulness in state spending.”

He said the property market has recovered, contributing to economic growth and social security.“First, we have to attune laws relating to urban construction, housing development, and property trading. Second, we have to control urban development in line with agreed plans. We need to control the growth of the property market under the national housing strategy, reforming the market and diversifying properties so all people can afford a house.”
