Quang Nam Heritage Festival to open for cultural value promotion
(VOVworld) – The 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival will open from June 21st to June 26th to honor Vietnamese culture and local identities. At a press conference today/Tuesday in Hanoi, Tran Minh Ca, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee and head of the organizing board, said the event will promote the image of Vietnam and Quang Nam province. This year’s festival will draw art troupes from 20 Vietnamese localities boasting cultural heritages and 200 artisans and artists from Japan, Korea, and ASEAN countries. Ca said: "The participation of ASEAN countries is the biggest highlight. In 2007, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia jointly organized a program on Indochina heritages, which proved effective in promoting tourism and increasing the number of tourists. This festival will feature the world cultural, natural, and intangible heritages of ASEAN members. In addition to promoting tourism, the festival will enable participants to share their experience in preserving and promoting heritage values".
At the festival, a cultural heritage space will be built on the Hoai river in Hoi An town. Visitors will enjoy the 3rd Vietnam International Choir Competition, street art shows, performances by Vietnamese ethnic people, and sports contests. The festival will include seminars on investment, trade, tourism promotion, and cooperation for tourism development in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
