After each fishing trip near the shore, a small ship can catch an average of 500kg to 700kg of anchovies. A larger ship can catch 5 to 6 tons of anchovies. One kilogram of anchovy is sold at Cua Viet port at 10,000 VND (40 cents). Local fishermen also earn an income from catching squid, herring, shrimp, crab, and jellyfish.
