(VOVworld) - Winners of a painting competition on the Republic of Korea’s culture and people were announced at a ceremony in Hanoi yesterday.

The first winning painting entitled "Portraits of South Koreans" by painter Nguyen Cong Hoai

Addressing the award ceremony, the RoK’s Ambassador to Vietnam Jun Dae Joo underscored the contest as a creative cultural exchange, which contributes to mutual understanding between the two peoples.

The third winning painting "Dream" by painter Ngo Van Sac

The 2-month competition organized by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam drew 74 young painters. The first and second prize winners received a week-long trip to the RoK. The first prize winner will also receive full sponsorship from the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam for an exhibition next year. The third prize winner received 300 USD in cash.
