The National Assembly promulgated Resolution 43 in early 2022 to stimulate economic recovery post-COVID-19. Deputies said the resolution offers many incentives such as reducing fuel taxes and extending tax payment deadlines.
“Vietnam's economy has recovered. Our GDP grew from 2.6% in 2021 to 5.05% last year and 5.64% in the first quarter of this year. Macroeconomic stability has been ensured amidst global volatility, and public debt dropped from 43% of GDP in 2022 to 37% last year,” said deputy Tran Hoang Ngan of Ho Chi Minh City, which was hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many National Assembly deputies agreed on the proposal to extend the implementation of Resolution 43 to support businesses, investors, and job creation.
