Reunion of war veterans in Ho Chi Minh city ahead of Reunification Day
(VOVWORLD) - The Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh city on Wednesday hosted a reunion of heroic mothers and soldiers who participated in the liberation of southern Vietnam on April 30, 1975.

Municipal authorities took the occasion to remember their great contributions to cause of national defense and honor exemplary contributors to Ho Chi Minh city’s development.
Participants recalled the glorious old days of soldiers and militia preparing and conducting the 1975 spring offensive that led to the ultimate victory on April 30. They heard stories shared by individuals who worked for the government of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) but later joined efforts for Vietnam’s reunification and development.
Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh city’s Party Committee, said, “The spirit of the victory on April 30, 1975, will forever burn inside us and fuel our aspirations to build a prosperous country and a modern city. We hope our leaders, Party members, and Youth Union members will be models for all Ho Chi Minh citizens to fulfill these aspirations and redeem the sacrifices our predecessors made.”
