Revised land law ought to harmonize state and people interest
(VOVworld) - Deputies at the ongoing National Assembly session will discuss revision to the Land Law on Monday. Many said that the amendments must address state and people interest harmoniously. They agreed on a proposal to categorize land management zoning to national, provincial and district levels. Deputy Nguyen Duc Kien from the southern province of Soc Trang said: “I support the 3-tier zoning as it is not bounded by administrative borders. District level zoning will address local issues better when it comes to project development and management".
Deputy La Ngoc Thoang from the northern province of Cao Bang said that pricing methodology in land transaction must be reviewed to serve agricultural land owners. He said the revision must have transparent pricing regulation:“Irregularities in existing pricing guidelines have caused most land related complaints. Acquisition of farming land at a closer to market price will minimize impact on farming activities and people’s life.”
Amendments to the Land Law are expected to be endorsed by June 21.
