The short-range missile, which flew about 100 km, was launched at around 12:45 p.m. local time from the eastern region near the coast of Seondeok in South Hamgyeong province.
Seoul made the announcement following a careful check of the projectile’s direction recorded by radar systems. The launch came just three days after Pyongyang fired one round of its new multiple rocket launcher in a north-eastern direction.
