RoK holds emergency meeting on Korean peninsula’s tensions
(VOVworld) – The National Security Council of the Republic of Korea (RoK) convened an emergency meeting Saturday after the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) testfired 3 new short-range missiles and warned to fire at Seoul’s boats violating the demarcation line. Yonhap reported that this was Seoul’s second warning that it will strike without notice at Seoul’s patrol boats entering its territorial waters.

Pyongyang claimed on Friday that Seoul’s 17 boats had violated Pyongyang’s sovereignty during the week.
On Saturday, the DPRK’s state-controlled media outlet KCNA reported the country successfully testfired a ballistic missile from a submarine. The KCNA said the Korean military now possesses a world-level strategic weapon capable of striking and wiping out hostile forces infringing upon Pyongyang’s sovereignty in any waters.
