(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a workshop in Hanoi on Wednesday to highlight the role of Vietnam’s diplomacy in national construction and defense over the past 70 years.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said:“Since it was founded 70 years ago, the Vietnamese diplomatic sector has contributed greatly to national liberation struggles and national renewal, integration and security. The sector has also contributed to strengthening Vietnam’s prestige in international arenas. Its achievements have been attributed to the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh”.
Minh stressed the importance of maintaining a peaceful and favorable environment to facilitate national industrialization and modernization, protect national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, raise Vietnam’s prestige, and contribute to the struggles for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress all over the world.
