The two pledged mutual support in international forums and to continue backing each other’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2020-2021. Mr. Luu called for more trade and investment, pointing out that Romania has strong food and shipbuilding industries and a wealth of natural resources.
At a meeting with Carmen-Ileana Mihalcescu, Vice Chairwoman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, Mr. Luu said their inter-parliamentary relationship is thriving and called for more delegation exchanges at all levels to share legislative information and experience. Ms. Mihalcescu praised the collaboration between Vietnam and Romania and urged closer partnership in energy, oil, gas, electricity, industry, infrastructure, healthcare, defense, agriculture, and banking.
