Russia asserts desire to hold dialogue with EU
(VOVworld) – On Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed that European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will attend the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 16 at the invitation of Russia.

Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin and Jean will meet during the economic forum in St Petersburg, insisting that Putin has many time wanted to hold dialogues with the European Union. But Peskov noted that it still takes time for both sides to restore the bilateral relations and dialogues are for overcoming the disagreements instead of imposing sanctions or confronting each other.
Peskov said Russia hopes Turkey takes first steps of apologizing and compensating Russia when Turkish jets downed a Sukhoi-24M bomber in Syrian border last November. He said no working group will be established to tackle Turkey and Russia relations unless Turkey apologizes.
