Russia begins Turkish Stream pipeline construction
(VOVWORLD) - Russian energy giant Gazprom announced on Sunday that it has begun laying pipes for the Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline off Russia’s Black Sea coast. The announcement came four days after a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller said the project is in strict compliance with the plan, and by late 2019 Gazprom’s Turkish and European consumers will have a new, reliable source of Russian gas imports.
