President Putin told PM Johnson that NATO was not ready to adequately react to Russian concerns, according to the statement on the Kremlin website.

Putin said NATO was “hiding behind” its open-door policy that “contradicts the fundamental principle of the indivisibility of security”.
At a press briefing after talks the same day with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Putin spoke in details the negotiation process and the US and NATO’s response to security guarantees for Russia. He noted that NATO’s open-door policy is not legally binding. He called for security guarantees for all involved parties, including Ukraine, European countries, and Russia, which can be done with a serious manner in regard to Russia-proposed documents on security guarantees.
