(VOVworld) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday urged Kiev to comply with a deal reached on February 21^st and conduct a constitutional reform, which would include participants from all regions of Ukraine. Addressing the 25^th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Mr Lavrov said the reform should be approved in a nationwide referendum. He pointed out that threatened sanctions on Russia were the factors that led to the division in Ukrainian society. 

The same day, the Russian Duma asked President Putin to recall Moscow’s Ambassador from the United States to protest the US’s statement condemning Russia’s Ukraine policy. Putin has been given authority by the Russian Duma to use military force to respond to the government overthrow in Ukraine. US Secretary of State John Kerry warned of possible asset freezes, travel restrictions, and economic sanctions if Russia dose not pull back its armed forces. The G7 countries (United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan) have cancelled their preparations for the G-8 summit in Sochi, Russia, later this year.
