(VOVworld) – Russia’s Ministry of Defence has criticized Germany and France for their decision to suspend military cooperation with Moscow saying that it is unconstructive and done under pressure by the US.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said Berlin’s refusal to exchange defense delegations will destroy the positive momentum built by the two sides over the past few years through cooperation on Afghanistan, dialogues on transparency and military and technology cooperation. French Minister of Defense Jean-Yves Le Drian announced last Friday that France will stop military cooperation with Russia despite past efforts to enhance trust and cooperation. Mr. Antonov said Russia and France had recently worked together in an unprecedented joint military exercise. The two had also planned a number of activities to boost military cooperation this year.
