“Russia has not yet sent S-300 missiles to Syria”
President Vladimir Putin has said that Moscow had not yet delivered the State of the art S-300 missiles to Syria. At the joint-press conference with EU leaders in Yekaterinburg city on Tuesday, Putin said that the signed contract to sell Russian surface-to-air missile systems has not been implemented. Putin stressed that Russia does not want to destroy the equilibrium in Middle East and warned that any military interference into Syria “will fail”. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed a contract on selling weapon between Russia and Syria in his visit to Russia last month and asked Moscow to stop delivering missile systems to Syria. Meanwhile, according to Syrian media, 5 shells dropped near the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday killing one person. The Russian Embassy in Damascus is the regular target by shells and rockets of opposition forces. However, the Tuesday attack is considered as the most deliberate attack.
