(VOVWORLD) - Russia attaches special importance to relations with Japan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the 3rd 2+2 meeting between the two countries’ foreign and defense chiefs on Tuesday in Moscow.

Mr. Lavrov said Russia is ready to boost bilateral cooperation in security.
Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said strengthening partnership with Russia is crucial, particularly when dialogues on North Korea’s denuclearization are underway.
