(VOVworld) – Ukraine-Russia strategic cooperation will continue to develop, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said at a talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday.

Yanukovych said this meeting was a strategic one and that the two sides need to keep developing this relationship. Yanukovych expressed his hope that the vital issue of fuel will be resolved on the basis of mutual benefit meeting shared aspirations. He called on Putin to coordinate not only in bilateral ties but also in relations with other countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Putin said he hopes Russia and Ukraine will manage to solve  the issues between them. He said Ukraine is Russia’s strategic partner and it is time the two countries took some steps forward.
