(VOVWORLD) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that any additional European Union aid to Ukraine will not affect the outcome of the conflict; it will only hurt Europe's economy.

According to Peskov, EU funding for Ukraine will harm the economies of countries that are already struggling and be detrimental to the industries and future of these countries.
Peskov made the statement after the Financial Times on Tuesday reported that the EU is considering a plan to provide 20 billion euros to Ukraine over the protests of Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
At the 2-day EU summit this month in Brussels, EU leaders failed to reach consensus on the European Commission’s proposal to loan Ukraine up to 50 billion euros for administrative purposes.
On Wednesday, the US announced an additional 250 million USD worth of arms and equipment for Ukraine. The package includes air defense munitions and other air defense system components.
