(VOVWORLD) - An article by Valeria Vershinina, a Vietnam expert working at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), highlights Vietnam's role and potential in Russia's foreign policy. The article recently appeared on the political analysis page of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).
The article said Vietnam’s partners need to listen to the opinion of this "Asian tiger" in international affairs. Vershinina hailed the development speed of the Vietnamese economy, despite the world economy facing a period of turbulence.
According to Vershinina, Vietnam is one of the few countries still capable of maintaining trade growth despite the global pandemic and widespread social distancing measures. According to several forecasts, Vietnam is likely to see GDP growth this year of 5.5% to 6.7%, reflecting the stability of Vietnam’s economic development model.
Vershinina emphasised Vietnam’s recent remarkable achievements. At the UN, Vietnam undertook an ambitious agenda as President of the UN Security Council in April, 2021.
