Russian plane crash: black boxes point to “attack”

(VOVworld) – An analysis of black boxes from the Russian plane that crashed in Egypt point to a bomb attack, a report by AFP said on Friday. According to the source, everything was normal until both the flight data and voice recorders failed 24 minutes, after the plane took off from Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh resort. This indicates that the plane had suffered a possible pressure by a sudden blast.

Earlier, French television channel France 2 reported that the black boxes distinctly show the sound of an explosion during the flight, saying the explosion would not be secondary from engine failure.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called Russian President Vladimir Putin and they agreed to bolster coordination to strengthen security measures for Russian planes. Earlier, Putin agreed to suspend Russian flights to Egypt.
The move followed warnings by UK intelligence officials that the Metrojet A321 airliner that crashed near Sharm el-Sheikh last Saturday with the loss of all 224 people on board was most likely brought down by a bomb placed in the plane’s cargo hold before take-off.
The cancel has affected around 50,000 Russian tourists who are in Sharm el-Sheikh. The UK, Holland, and Ireland also suspended their flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh airport.
