(VOVWORLD) - The Russian Defense Ministry said in a press release on Sunday that a fleet of warships left the Vladivostok naval base to carry out a remote sea patrol mission in the Asia-Pacific.

The warships, part of Russia’s Pacific Fleet, consist of a cruiser, the flagship of the Varyag Pacific Fleet, the Admiral Panteleev heavy anti-submarine vessel, and the Pechenga medium tug.
The press release said the ships will visit some other ports but did not give further details.
