Russians likely to be vaccinated against coronavirus in September
(VOVWORLD) - Russian people will likely be vaccinated against the coronavirus in mid-September, according to Alexander Gintsburg, Director of the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

Gintsburg said on Sunday that mass vaccination will take longer than initially predicted because most of the vaccine doses produced so far will be used for further testing.
By December Russia should be able to produce 5 million doses of vaccine per month, ensuring that domestic demand can be met within 9 to 12 months.
The world's first vaccine against COVID-19, dubbed ‘Sputnik V’, was registered by the Gamaleya Institute last Tuesday after preclinical and clinical studies.
