(VOVWORLD) - The new SARS-CoV-2 variant discovered in the UK has spread to more than 70 countries, and a South African variant has appeared in 30 countries, according a WHO report.

As of Thursday, there have been more than 101 million COVID-19 cases and 2.1 million COVID-19 deaths around the world, according to worldometers.info. The US remains the pandemic’s epicenter, with 26 million infections and 440,000 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.
