(VOVworld) – On Friday, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a conference to review its strategy for science and technology development from 2011 to 2015 and determine priorities for this year.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that over the past 5 years, the science and technology sector has seen considerable progress, with Vietnam ranking third in ASEAN in the global innovation index. Mr. Dam said in order to fully exploit Vietnam’s science and technology potential, it will be essential to enhance innovation at a national scale to boost production development. It will be necessary to get universities and research institutes involved in this effort. The State needs specific policies to support enterprises, research institutes, and universities and promote competitiveness in the science and technology sector.
