SCO calls for diplomatic solutions to deal with conflicts
(VOVWORLD) - Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) issued a joint statement on Friday, in which they agreed that political and diplomatic solutions are “the only choice” to deal with regional conflicts.

The statement said 6 SCO members support Afghanistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism, extremism, and drug crime organizations, adding that the United Nations plays a key role in international cooperation to maintain peace and stability in Afghanistan. SCO urged the Syrian government and the opposition factions to increase dialogues to deal with the ongoing conflicts by political means in line with the UN Security Council’s Resolutions. SCO’s joint statement condemned all forms of terrorism and stressed the importance of UN Security Council’s coordination role in fighting international terrorism and armed terrorists.
